As women, and mothers, we all need each other.
I am an advocate for creating and maintaining a healthy postpartum recovery. I believe this is a special time where all moms, and families, deserve to feel peace and happiness. After working in high tech industries for 12 years, it was the experience (and huge challenges) of having my two children that ignited my passion for helping moms through the postpartum transition.
I had severe postpartum depression (PPD) and anxiety after the birth of my first child, and it changed my life drastically. I was unexpectedly sad, confused, angry and internally struggled through the typical motions of being a new mom for an entire year. I was not able to enjoy the happiness of motherhood that I knew I deserved. I felt so isolated even when I was surrounded by people, and could not understand what I was feeling. Help was difficult to find, and so I silently suffered internally. I decided to encapsulate my placenta with my second child to help offset developing PPD again. And it worked! The capsules increased my milk production, gave me more energy, and regulated my body temperature. I truly felt amazing. It literally changed my life, and my experience being a mother. I was so moved by the positive encapsulation experience, I became certified to provide this sacred gift for others.
I am a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, certified through Placenta Benefits (PBi), using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) methods. I am certified in proper food handling and sanitation practices in Texas, and compliant with strict OSHA and EPA guidelines.
I am also a DONA postpartum doula focused on helping moms and families have a peaceful transition at home after baby arrives. My professional services will treat your sacred placenta, newborn baby and family with the upmost quality and care.
I would be honored to work with you, and be a part of your postpartum wellness team. I look forward to meeting you!

About Placenta Benefits
Placenta Benefits (PBi) was founded in 2006 by Jodi Selander in Las Vegas, NV. The purpose of the organization is to educate women and professional communities about the benefits of placentophagy (placenta ingestion) for postpartum recovery. The vast majority of mothers will experience some sort of postnatal mood disorder, with some estimates as high as 80%. When a mother suffers, it affects the entire family. PBi believes that placentophagy can help these mothers have a better postpartum recovery, and possibly avoid the baby blues.
PBi's headquarters is located in Las Vegas, NV and has members around the world, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and South Korea. PBi's educational outreach extends from its members, website, advertising, research and published articles. Its goal is to provide current information, resources, education, and to advocate for further research and legislation to support placentophagy and parents' rights of control over their baby's placenta.
